Watchtower Labs emerges from stealth with $35 million for AI military planning tools
Watchtower Labs emerged from stealth with $35 million in seed financing led by Shield Capital and Conviction, with participation from Founders Fund. The Seattle company is building AI-native applications that use simulation and optimization to help military leaders anticipate operational outcomes and compare possible actions. Its initial focus is logistics planning, where transport, fuel, spare parts, munitions, routes and timing determine whether a mission is executable. The company says the funding will support development of software for consequential planning decisions, but the announcement does not provide a product deployment schedule, customer contracts, headcount or specific hiring targets. The unusually large seed round indicates substantial investor backing for the technical and market opportunity. Candidates should nevertheless separate the confirmed financing from assumptions about procurement speed, revenue and the maturity of production deployments, all of which remain undisclosed in the public announcement.
