FuriosaAI raises $620 million to double AI-chip production and build its third-generation accelerator
FuriosaAI closed a $620 million Series D at a $2.9 billion post-money valuation to expand production of its RNGD AI inference accelerator and fund a third-generation chip. South Korea's National Growth Fund committed about $280 million, while Cisco Investments and other international and Korean investors participated. The company says RNGD entered mass production in January 2026 and that it plans to manufacture 20,000 accelerator cards this year. FuriosaAI has secured memory and fabrication capacity to more than double that output in 2027. The new capital will also support global deployments, software development and a 2-nanometer, multi-die third-generation design being developed with Broadcom and other partners. Samsung SDS is offering services powered by RNGD, while LG companies are deploying the technology in hybrid-cloud environments. FuriosaAI explicitly says it is hiring in Seoul, Silicon Valley, Lisbon and Singapore.
