AvalonX launches from stealth with up to $10 million for AI penetration testing
AvalonX emerged from 18 months in stealth with an investment of up to $10 million from Ridown Capital and the launch of its continuous AI-powered penetration-testing platform. The Alpharetta startup targets small and midsize businesses that face enterprise-level threats without comparable security teams or budgets. Its Artemis platform uses autonomous agents to test external defenses and potential attack paths, while human penetration testers review findings that require expert judgment. AvalonX says its proprietary Aether model was trained on nine years of offensive-security data and supported by 60 billion dark-web records. The service maps findings to frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS and HIPAA. The announcement confirms public availability and the investment ceiling, but it does not disclose current headcount, customer revenue, exact hiring plans or how much of the committed capital has already been deployed.
