Microsoft announced plans to invest more than $10 billion in capital and operating expenses across Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates through 2030. The framework includes cloud and AI capacity, cybersecurity cooperation, sovereign-cloud capabilities, more than $400 million for connectivity and workforce-skilling initiatives.

Microsoft said its India South Central datacentre region in Hyderabad is live and designated as a strategic hub for Asia and the Global South. The three-zone region is part of the company’s $20.5 billion India commitment; Microsoft also reported that more than 10 million people in India have received AI skills training toward a 20 million target by 2030.

Microsoft said it was eliminating around 4,800 roles, equal to about 2.1% of its global workforce. The company said the changes fell mostly within its Commercial and Xbox organizations, while more than 4,000 employees had been redeployed into new roles over the prior year, including another 500 that month.
