Kongsberg Automotive secures approval for restructuring at its Cluses plant
Kongsberg Automotive completed employee consultations and received French authority approval for a restructuring of its manufacturing operation in Cluses, France. The company says the site has produced significant negative financial results for several years and requires substantial cost savings to align capacity with forecast demand. The plan was initiated in June 2026 and is expected to create a leaner operation while preserving a foundation for the site's long-term activity. Kongsberg Automotive estimates one-time restructuring costs of about €7.5 million, with most of the charge expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. It projects approximately €4 million in savings in 2027 and about €5 million annually thereafter, giving the program a payback period of less than two years. The release confirms restructuring and cost reduction but does not state the number of positions affected.
