Axcelis invests $35 million in a new semiconductor-equipment plant in South Korea

Axcelis Technologies plans to build a roughly 200,000-square-foot ion implantation equipment manufacturing facility in Pyeongtaek, South Korea. The company expects to invest $35 million, break ground in October 2026 and begin production in the second half of 2028.
