Electronic Arts cuts about 400 jobs and closes BioWare
Electronic Arts said it is eliminating about 400 roles as part of a restructuring that includes closing BioWare and its Edmonton workspace. The company also cancelled the next Mass Effect game, concentrating resources on fewer franchises and teams.
The decision materially raises execution and employment risk around studios or projects outside EA's highest-priority franchises. Candidates should treat a job posting as insufficient evidence of stability and ask whether the team has an approved multi-year product roadmap and committed funding.
